BRISBANE FARMERS MARKETS

There's something about Brisbane's farmers markets that I seem to fall in love with. A community of farmers all over Brisbane coming together and sharing the produce & products they have put their heart and soul is so amazing. The vibe of the place brings so much happiness and joy to everyone involved. Every week I grab my granny trolley and hop on the ferry across to The Jan Powers Farmers Markets held on a Wednesday in Queens St Mall in the city, and every second and fourth Saturday at the Brisbane Powerhouse. These markets have such a range of products and produce that I keep coming back for such as fresh and organic fruit & vegetables, a variety of authentic and cultural food stalls, meats, seafood, cheeses, fresh herbs and spices, bulk nuts, muesli and dried fruits, olives and delicacies, yogurts, breads, smoothies, fresh cane & fruit juices, tea & coffee, kombuca, furniture & clothes, live music and fresh flowers. Everything you want are at these markets! The stall owners are always so welcoming and friendly, they put 100% into their products and value their customers, if you visit them weekly they will remember you and maybe give you some freebies or discounts! They take pride in their produce and products only selling the best seasonal produce, so you know it's fresh!  Getting to know your farmers is such an amazing part of visiting the markets, it makes the experience much more enjoyable. I encourage you to start chatting to your farmers about where their produce comes from and how they grow it? is it organic? pesticide free? are the animals being raised in a humane environment? it is so interesting and important to know whats happening and where your food is coming from.

Some of my favorite stalls to visit -Organic Produce & Fresh seedlings

Buchi Supergreens Kombucha, Strawberries & Sunflowers

I hope this inspires you to visit your local markets and start supporting small business's and farmers :)

Cheers to Health,
Maddy Lahey xx
